Bettina Bakt is a German pastry bakery (Konditorei) on the Van Woustraat in Amsterdam, where cakes, biscuits and bread are baked from family recipes and the baker's own.
The counter holds the German classics, among them Käsekuchen, Bienenstich, Sachertorte, Apfelstrudel and Black Forest gateau, alongside pretzels (Brezeln) and lye rolls (Laugenbrötchen). Everything the bakery makes itself is certified organic (SKAL, NL-BIO-01.528-0001269.2025.002), and we found the certificate in the register at this address. How the bread is leavened and which flour goes into it, their website doesn't say.
The shop is open Tuesday to Saturday from 11:00 to 18:00 according to their website, often later, and closed on Sunday and Monday.
In these cakes the chocolate and nuts lead, and the sugar is there to strengthen their flavour.
