Biltse Boer
- Cattle, sheep or goats graze on pasture in the grazing season
- Zero waste
Biltse Boer is the ice cream and dairy kitchen of Boerderij Tameroord, a dairy farm of about 85 cows on the Utrechtseweg between De Bilt and Zeist, which turns part of its own milk into ice cream, yoghurt and kefir on the farm.
The cows are milked by robots that they visit whenever they choose, and part of the milk goes straight to the kitchen on the yard. There it becomes whole yoghurt, hangop (strained yoghurt), vla (Dutch custard), kefir and whole pasture milk (weidemelk), bottled in glass, plus ice cream made in small batches from the whole milk and sorbets from fresh fruit. You can also tap raw milk yourself in the farm's ice cream parlour, bringing a clean bottle or buying one there. What the cows eat in winter isn't confirmed yet.
From 5 October 2026 the farm is in winter mode and open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10:00 to 17:30, with extra days depending on weather and school holidays. The dairy is also sold at SPAR Bilthoven, Landwinkel de Hooierij in De Bilt, 't Zuivelhoekje in Zeist and several farm shops in Werkhoven, Woudenberg and Scherpenzeel. Clean empty bottles and jars can be returned for reuse.
Tameroord is the only working dairy farm left in De Bilt-Zuid, and the farm has stood here for more than a hundred years.
