Biomonkie De Weide

Biomonkie De Weide is an organic food shop on the Doelenstraat in IJsselstein, open since 2015, run by a couple who started in 2012 with a market stall of biodynamic vegetables and still sell at two weekly markets.

The shop is certified organic (SKAL); we found it in the register. It sells fresh organic and biodynamic vegetables and fruit, sourced from local farmers wherever possible and preferably carrying the Demeter label, along with bread, dairy and groceries. There is a wide range of gluten-free and lactose-free products, and the shop also stocks personal care products, essential oils and supplements; the individual farms behind the fresh produce aren't named on their website.

The shop is open Tuesday to Friday from 10:00 to 13:00 and 14:00 to 18:00, and on Saturday from 10:00 to 16:00. Groceries can also be ordered at any hour through the Ekoplaza webshop and collected at the shop, and larger orders can be delivered to your home for a small fee. On Fridays from 9:00 to 17:00 Biomonkie has a vegetable and fruit stall at the organic market on the Botermarkt in Haarlem, and on Saturdays from 8:00 to 16:00 at the Boerenmarkt on the Buikslotermeerplein in Amsterdam-Noord.

The owners say they sell only products they eat themselves, and they run tastings and workshops in the shop.
