In their words · translated
“Wij runnen een melkveehouderij op veengrond in Laag-Holland.”
We run a dairy farm on peat land in Laag-Holland.
“Onze koeien hebben een ruwvoerrantsoen van 100% gras. In de zomer is dit vers en in de wintermaanden kuilgras.”
Our cows have a forage ration of 100% grass. In summer this is fresh and in the winter months grass silage.

Buurmans Gras is a dairy farm on peat land on the Genieweg in Assendelft, in Laag-Holland, that sells fresh milk from its own cows in a farm shop.

The cows are milked by two milking robots, and in summer the barn door stands open so they can choose whether to go out to pasture; on hot days they tend to stay in the cooler barn and go out in the evening. Their forage is entirely grass, fresh in summer and grass silage in winter, topped up with concentrate and by-products of the food industry such as potatoes, potato pulp, brewers' grains and soya meal. Their website does not say whether the milk in the shop is raw or pasteurised. The rest of the milk is collected by Campina and made into cheese, and the shop also sells farm-themed gifts.

The shop at Genieweg 82 is open on Thursdays from 14:00 to 17:00, on the first Sunday of each month at the same hours, and on Mondays by appointment.

The farm has run entirely on its own solar power since September 2020.
