Gimsel is an independent organic shop on the Koninginnelaan in Apeldoorn, open since 1989, with a range chosen in organic and Demeter quality.
The shelves hold freshly baked bread, some of it sourdough, organic vegetables and fruit, dairy and cheese, seeds and, in season, plants, bulbs and cut flowers, and the shop also makes up vegetable and fruit boxes. Gimsel holds no organic certificate; what qualifies it here is a range made up of organic and Demeter products. Which bakery supplies the bread and which farms supply the fresh produce we couldn't confirm.
Where possible the shop buys local products from producers the owner knows personally.
