Rofmeddow Zuivel
- Cattle, sheep or goats graze on pasture in the grazing season
Rofmeddow Zuivel is a dairy farm in the Ruige Weide polder in Oudewater, in the same family since 1925 and now run by the third generation, which makes its own dairy products from the milk of its cows.
Everything is made on the farm from freshly drawn milk: pasteurised whole and semi-skimmed milk, butter, buttermilk, yoghurt (plain, vanilla and with seasonal fruit), hangop (strained yoghurt), quark, vla and chocolate milk. The milk is pasteurised, so none of it is raw. Their website says the family looks forward each spring to the cows going back out to graze in the meadow.
The products are sold in the farm's own self-service shop at Ruige Weide 37, open every day from 7:00 to 22:00, and their website lists other places nearby that stock them; shops can order through localist.nl.
The name is the farm's address spelled the Dutch way: Ruige Weide means rough meadow.
