Vereniging voor Agro-ecologie Ede
The Vereniging voor Agro-ecologie Ede runs VoedselKollektief Ede (VOKO Ede), a members' food co-op in Ede, where a group of 25 to 75 people buys vegetables together, direct from four local growers.
The vegetables come from De Hoge Born in Wageningen, De Landouw in De Glind, De Ommuurde Tuin in Renkum and Tuinderij het Lichtveen in Bennekom. The last three are certified organic (SKAL), which we confirmed in the register. Because the growers harvest in bulk for the whole group, they can skip packing an order for each household.
To buy, you join the vereniging, which is taking new members; membership starts at €15 a year. There is no fixed share: each week members order what they need and collect it at molen Concordia, the mill on the Molenstraat opposite Cultura in Ede. Every member takes a turn of about one half-day every six weeks, collecting vegetables from the growers by car, putting together the order lists or dividing the produce at the pickup point.
The co-op was started in May 2026 by former harvesters of De Wilde Peen, a self-harvest CSA garden in Ede that lost its land when the lease ended. In 2026 De Wilde Peen has no land and is looking for a plot to buy, and the co-op supplies its members in the meantime.
