“Zij lopen het grootste gedeelte van het jaar lekker buiten in de weilanden rondom de ijssalon.”
They spend most of the year outside in the meadows around the ice-cream parlour.
De IJsboerin is an ice-cream parlour on a dairy farm outside Rockanje, where the family makes ice cream from the milk of its own 30 cows.
The cows spend most of the year outside in the meadows around the parlour, and every spring after the winter they go back out to pasture. Part of the fresh milk becomes the ice cream and the rest goes to FrieslandCampina, so the farm sells ice cream and ice-cream cakes to order but not milk.
You can buy at the parlour on the Thijs Cornelisweg. In the summer months the family also gives one-hour farm tours on Wednesday afternoons, which take visitors into the meadow to see the cows and calves.
