De Speltknop
De Speltknop is a farm shop and webshop on the Otterloseweg in Wekerom, selling spelt flour and baking mixes and rapeseed oil from crops grown on the farm's own land, along with beef and rosé veal from its own animals.
The spelt is hulled and ground on millstones, and sold as white and wholemeal flour, grains, semolina and bran, and as mixes for bread, cakes, pancakes and pizza, made without additives and with less sugar. Their website says the spelt is grown organically (biologisch) on their own land, without pesticides, though De Speltknop holds no organic certificate. The rapeseed oil is pressed from rapeseed grown on their own fields, and a beekeeper makes creamed honey from bees working those same fields. Beef and rosé veal from their own animals are sold in the shop and described as raised without antibiotics; how the animals are kept we haven't yet confirmed. The shop also bakes spelt bread to order.
The shop is open Wednesday to Saturday from 9:00, and you can pay by card or cash there. You can also order through the webshop or by phone, with delivery across the Netherlands and abroad.
The same rapeseed fields give the farm two products: the oil from the seed and the honey from the flowers.
