A holybrood is made from organic wheat flour, wholemeal wheat flour and a rye sourdough.
“ambachtelijk versgebakken brood uit een steenoven”
freshly baked artisan bread from a stone oven
Holybrood is a home bakery on the Dorpsstraat in Holysloot, a village within the municipality of Amsterdam, where one baker makes stone-oven bread on a rye sourdough one or two days a week.
The standard loaf, a holybrood of around 750 grams, is made from organic wheat flour, wholemeal wheat flour and a rye sourdough, with no added baker's yeast, and is baked in a stone oven. Rye loaves, croissants, buns and baguettes are baked regularly as well, and now and then a panettone.
There is no shop. Bread is ordered ahead through the webshop and collected at the house on Dorpsstraat on Saturday morning, between 8:30 and 10:30. The baker bakes a fixed amount, so a loaf is only certain if it is ordered.
