IJsboerderij Middelbroeck
- Cattle, sheep or goats graze on pasture in the grazing season
IJsboerderij Middelbroeck is a dairy farm on the Broekseweg in Meerkerk that makes farm ice cream from the milk of its own Holstein and Jersey cows and sells it, with cheese and dairy, from a small farm shop.
The cream ice is made from the farm's whole milk, fresh each day, and like all ice cream it is pasteurised; the yoghurt ice cream uses whole farm yoghurt, and there are dairy-free sorbets too. The cows are milked by a robot, lie in deep-litter cubicles and are fed fresh grass along with sugar-beet by-products, but their website doesn't say whether they graze outside. The shop also sells boerenkaas (farm cheese), dairy, eggs, honey and jam, which aren't confirmed as their own.
In autumn 2026 the farm shop in Meerkerk is open Thursday to Saturday for litre tubs of ice cream, cheese, dairy and eggs, with scooped ice cream on Saturdays only. In the season there is also an ice-cream parlour in Ottoland, which closes for the winter, and ice-cream cakes can be ordered.
