Korenmolen Windlust Nootdorp
- Organic methods: no synthetic pesticides or fertiliser, not certified
Korenmolen Windlust is a listed corn windmill on the Oudeweg in Nootdorp where volunteer millers grind wheat into flour that is sold at the mill.
They make three products from it: wholemeal flour (volkorenmeel), white wheat flour (bloem) and a pancake mix, all sold by the kilo, and the wholemeal and white flour can be ordered in 5-kilo bags by phone. The wheat is baking wheat from Hermus, which their website describes as organic.
The mill is usually open on Saturdays, and on other days when the sails are turning you can go in once the miller has put the welcome sign out on the pavement and ring the bell. The flour and the pancake mix are also sold at the same prices at the Jumbo on the Paradeplein in Nootdorp, at Kaasboerderij Van Leeuwen on the 's-Gravenweg in Nootdorp, and at both Bakkerij Rijnbeek shops in Pijnacker.
The grain is ground between the mill's millstones, and all five of the volunteer millers now grind with it.
