Oogst Woerden
Oogst Woerden is a self-service farm shop on the Rijnstraat in the centre of Woerden, one of four Oogst shops, which sells food from regional farms and makers who farm regeneratively.
The range covers vegetables, fruit, cheese, bread, eggs, farm dairy, meat, game and delicatessen, and it differs from shop to shop. Oogst looks first for producers within 30 km of each shop, then in the province, and fills the rest from the Netherlands and Europe. It asks its farmers to follow at least the main organic principles, no artificial fertiliser, no pesticides and enough outdoor space for the animals, and describes much of its range as organic, though the shop itself holds no organic certificate. Producers listed for the Woerden shop include BoerBert in Kamerik, the food forests Voedselbos van Jaarsveld and Voedselbos Velics in Lopik, De Geertjeshoeve in Haarzuilens and Boer met Lust, with herb cheese from Montfoort and fruit from the Betuwe.
You open the door and pay with the Oogst app, so the shop is open every day from 6:00 to 22:00. Staff are there on Mondays and Tuesdays from 9:00 to 14:00, on Fridays from 9:00 to 17:00 and on Saturdays from 11:00 to 15:00.
The Woerden and Montfoort shops are run by a farmer from Boerderij Bloemenweidemelk in Montfoort.
