Stadsbakkerij De Diamanten Ring
Stadsbakkerij De Diamanten Ring is a town bakery at Choorstraat 9 in the centre of Delft, which according to their website has been baking there for 225 years and bakes a broad range of bread and pastry each night in the bakery behind the shop.
What earns it a place here is the house-made sourdough (desem) bread, which their website lists alongside white, spelt and multigrain loaves. The sourdough is not described further: their website does not say whether baker's yeast is added or how long the dough rises, and it names no flour or mill, so the bread is listed on the strength of the desem claim alone. Rye bread and spiced loaf (ontbijtkoek) are also made in-house; the pastry, cakes and other Delft specialities fall outside what we check.
Bread is sold in the shop or through their webshop, where orders placed by 23:59 on six days of the week are ready the next day; the shop's opening hours are not given on their website.
