Agneskruiden
- No synthetic pesticides or fertiliser (certified)
Agneskruiden is an organic herb garden at the back of the kitchen garden of the Eyckenstein estate in Maartensdijk, where herbs are grown and dried for herbal teas, salves and tinctures and sold as plants for your own garden.
The garden is certified organic (SKAL); we found it in the register. It sells organic herb plants, bee plants and culinary herbs in pots, seeds of flowers and herbs such as calendula, amaranth, sage and evening primrose, and herbal teas both as blends and single herbs, including sage, mint, nettle and chamomile. Tea made from fresh herbs picked in the garden, such as mint, thyme, agrimony and, from June, lemon verbena, is one of its specialities.
The herb garden and shop are open from late April to early October on Wednesdays from 13:00 to 16:00 and Saturdays from 10:00 to 16:00, and the pick-your-own flower garden opens from 1 June. Outside the season the products can be ordered by email, and the teas are also sold in several farm shops.
The herbs are dried in the garden's own drying cabinets, which are part of the guided tour that groups can book.
