Practices beyond what our criteria ask for. What counts
In their words · translated
“Wij houden stamboek Nederlands bonte schapen en verkopen lamsvlees van de boer: lokaal, eerlijk en afkomstig van onze eigen dieren.”
We keep pedigree Dutch Spotted sheep and sell lamb straight from the farmer: local and from our own animals.
“De dieren grazen in alle rust op onze kruidenrijke graslanden”
The animals graze in peace on our herb-rich grasslands

Boerderij het Veldhuis is a sheep farm at Wilnis in the Groene Hart, where one family has kept sheep for four generations and sells the lamb from its own flock through a webshop.

The flock is pedigree Dutch Spotted sheep (Nederlands Bont Schaap), registered in the breed's herdbook, and the animals graze on the farm's herb-rich grassland. The webshop sells mixed lamb packages and separate cuts, from boneless leg, rack, loin chops, shoulder, shank and stewing meat to mince and burgers, as well as lamb liver and lamb heart.

All the meat is delivered frozen, with free delivery above a minimum order, and orders can also be collected at the farm on the Veldhuis in Wilnis.

Besides the sheep, the farm takes part in agricultural nature management, running its meadows with room for wildflowers, insects and meadow birds.
