Creative Garden Wageningen

Heemtuin Creative Garden is a community garden of about 8,000 m² on the grounds of the organic care farm De Hoge Born in Wageningen, run since 2014 by about 25 regular participants and many casual volunteers who grow most of the vegetables they eat in a year.

The garden includes a vegetable garden, a food forest with fruit trees, bushes and berries, a test plot for new crops and a chicken coop, as well as a herb garden that can be reached by wheelchair, a kitchen for cooking together and making preserves, and a wood-fired pizza oven.

There is nothing to buy; instead anyone can join, and the simplest way in is to turn up on a Sunday between 12:00 and 16:00, when the group gardens, works and eats together. The garden is a 500-metre walk from the Forum building on the Wageningen University campus.
