Drosterhoeve
- Cattle, sheep or goats graze on pasture in the grazing season
Drosterhoeve is a beef farm on the Drosteweg in Putten that raises Black Angus cattle and sells the meat from its own herd.
The cattle are outside for most of the year on the pastures around the farm, which are sown with many different grasses, and in winter, when the land gets too wet, they move into roomy straw-bedded pens in the barn. Besides the usual steaks and stewing cuts the farm sells tongue, liver, oxtail, brisket, short ribs and shank with the marrow bone, and several mixed packages of four to eight kilos, including a stewing package; a barbecue package is made up on request. Pork is also on the list, but their website does not say where it comes from.
The farm shop is open on Saturday from 10:00 to 12:00 and on Thursday evening from 19:00 to 21:00, or by appointment, and you can order packages in advance through the contact form or by phone.
The calves are usually born without assistance and stay with their mothers and the herd for as long as possible.
