In their words · translated
“Op onze boerderij gebruiken we geen kunstmest of bestrijdingsmiddelen.”
On our farm we use no synthetic fertiliser or pesticides.
“In ons winkeltje verkopen we producten, groente en fruit van het land. Lokaal, onbespoten en met liefde gemaakt.”
In our little shop we sell products, vegetables and fruit from the land. Local, unsprayed and made with love.

Het Terphuis is a care farm run by a Christian foundation in a listed farmhouse on the Kerkstraat in Poortugaal, whose land is worked as one large vegetable garden and whose shop sells the vegetables, fruit and honey it produces.

According to their website no synthetic fertiliser or pesticides are used, the garden is planted as a mix of crops with many fruit trees, shrubs and other perennials rather than single crops, and hives were placed and flowers sown for the bees that pollinate them, which is where the honey comes from. The farm holds no SKAL certificate and we found none in the register; what qualifies it here is the unsprayed garden. Their website also counts eggs and nuts among what the land gives, but does not say whether they are sold.

The shop's opening hours are not published; their website invites you to walk in and see what is on offer that day.

The crops feed the farm's own residential community as well as the shop.
