Practices beyond what our criteria ask for. What counts
In their words · translated
“Onze Schotse Hooglanders en buiten lopende (bos)varkens leveren kleinschalig vlees dat puur is, met enkel kruiden en specerijen als toevoegingen.”
Our Scottish Highlanders and outdoor (woodland) pigs provide small-scale meat that is pure, with only herbs and spices as additions.
“De runderen zijn gras-gevoerd, zonder antibiotica, krachtvoer of kunstmest voor het gras.”
The cattle are grass-fed, without antibiotics, concentrates or artificial fertiliser for the grass.

Hof aan de Amstel is a farm on the Jaagpad in De Kwakel that raises Scottish Highland cattle and outdoor pigs and sells the meat from the farm on Saturdays.

The Highland cattle are grass-fed and get no antibiotics or concentrates, and no artificial fertiliser goes on their grass. The pigs, some of them kept in woodland, also get no antibiotics; they live outdoors on a varied diet and have mud to root in. Nothing is added to the meat except herbs and spices.

The farm is open on Saturdays from 14:00 to 16:00, and their website has a price list and explains how to order ahead.
