Melkwinkel is the farm shop of Zuivelboerderij Vrouwenakker, an organic dairy farm on the Drechtdijk in De Kwakel with 90 milking cows, part of whose milk is made into cheese, yoghurt and buttermilk on the farm.
From their own milk they make several kinds of boerenkaas (farm cheese), yoghurt and buttermilk, and they sell the milk itself as well; their website does not say whether the milk or the cheese is raw. Their website says the cows go outside onto fresh grass and can also lie in straw in the barn. The farm is certified organic (SKAL, registered as Maatschap Langelaan at the same address); we found the certificate in the register.
The shop is open on Friday from 9:00 to 18:00 and on Saturday from 9:00 to 16:00, and alongside their own dairy it sells goat cheese, jams and delicatessen from elsewhere. There is also a terrace where you can have coffee or a roll with their cheese.
Besides the dairy herd, the farm manages a nature area.
