Natuurlijk Gezond is a natural-food shop on the Broersveld in Schiedam selling fresh vegetables and fruit, nearly all of it unpackaged, along with dry goods from organic brands and a small range of dairy.
It stocks brands carrying the Demeter, EKO, SKAL and Fairtrade labels, such as Terrasana, Lima and Luna e Terra. The hard cheese is from Bio Kaas van de Kinderdijk, made with vegetable rennet, and the eggs are from hens that go outside, though the farm isn't named. Raw, cold-extracted honey comes from De Hoekse Bijenkorf, dry sausage from Brandt & Levie, made from Dutch pigs, and flour from the Joannusmolen, and raw-milk kefir, hangop (strained yoghurt) and yoghurt from Rauw Milk Company can be ordered. There are also loose pulses, herbs and spices, and Möller's cod liver oil.
The shop opens Monday at 12:00, Tuesday to Thursday at 11:00 and Friday and Saturday at 9:00, closing at 17:30, or 17:00 on Saturday. It is also a pickup point for the vegetable subscription of Biologische Boerderij Landzicht, ordered through Landzicht's website, and for De Groene Weg butcher in Rotterdam: order in the shop or by email by Thursday and the meat is usually there to collect on Friday afternoon.
