Natuurslagerij Van Santen is an independent butcher's shop in Wageningen that has traded since 1991 and says it knows the farmer, the origin and the slaughter method for all of its meat.
The veal comes from Ecofields in Wekerom, where the calves are given more space and access to pasture, which is the line we checked; the pork is bought from Batallé in Spain, and the shop also sells beef, lamb and chicken, not yet confirmed.
The shop is open Tuesday to Thursday from 8:30 to 18:00, Friday from 8:00 to 18:00 and Saturday from 8:00 to 16:00.
