The Market De Markt
The Duurzame Streekmarkt is a Saturday market of regional producers on the Markt in front of the town hall in Wageningen, run by StreekWaar, where everything on sale is produced within 15 km of the town.
The stalls sell local vegetables and fruit, bread, cheese including goat cheese, eggs, lamb, juice, kombucha, pickles and other fermented foods, honey, jam and cakes. The market's rule is that its products are grown or made without artificial fertiliser or chemical pesticides, which is what qualifies it here; each producer's own practice is described on their own listing where we have one.
The market is held every Saturday from 9:00 to 17:00. On Wednesday mornings and all day on Saturday the ordinary town market (warenmarkt) also fills the Markt, the Raadhuisplein and the Salverdaplein, so look for the StreekWaar stalls by name.
