Bakker van Voorthuizen
Bakker van Voorthuizen is a bakery shop in Wageningen belonging to a baking family that has baked bread in Ederveen since 1902, and the bread is still baked there every day.
Among white, brown, wholemeal, multigrain, spelt, barley and rye loaves, the range includes desembrood (sourdough), which according to their website is given a 24-hour rise. The other breads are made with yeast, sourdough or a mix of the two, so it is worth asking for the sourdough by name. The shop also sells cakes, chocolates and filled rolls.
The shop is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 17:30 and on Saturday from 8:30 to 17:00. Within the Wageningen area they deliver orders placed a day ahead by phone or email, and the previous day's bread is sold at a discount from Tuesday to Friday.
