The Nieuwmarkt in the centre of Amsterdam is a square with a market every day, and on Saturdays the whole square is taken over by a weekly organic farmers' market.
The city's website says the Saturday market sells everything from locally grown vegetables and fruit to candles and cosmetics, so food and other goods share the square. We judged the market as a whole and haven't checked the individual stalls, so ask the stallholders where their produce was grown.
The city's website gives Saturday hours of 9:00 to 18:30, although older listings give the organic market as 9:00 to 16:00, so it is worth checking before making a special trip.
