Poelier Ammerlaan
- Pigs and poultry live free range: outdoors on pasture, in woodland or a run
Poelier Ammerlaan is a poulterer on the Aert van der Goesstraat in the Statenkwartier of Den Haag, selling chicken, poultry and game along with stews and roast chicken made in the shop each day.
The chicken we checked is Polderhoen, a Dutch bird raised organically: their website says it lives with plenty of space, fresh air and daylight, eats only organic plant-based feed and is given no antibiotics or growth promoters, so it grows slowly. The farm behind the brand isn't named. The other chickens come from France (free-range Ancenis birds from the west of the country, some of them maize-fed, plus maize-fed Poulet Jaune and poussin) and from the Dutch Gildehoen line, which is raised without antibiotics in barns with outdoor runs. The shop also sells duck, quail, guinea fowl and pheasant, seasonal venison, wild boar, rabbit and hare, and a grass-fed ribeye, none of which we could yet trace to a farm or estate.
You can buy in the shop or through the webshop, and the shop also does catering.
