Tuinderij het Lichtveen
- No synthetic pesticides or fertiliser (certified)
- No ploughing
- Regenerative farming
Tuinderij het Lichtveen is a market garden in the Binnenveld at Bennekom that grows vegetables, herbs and soft fruit for customers in Ede and Wageningen, on land belonging to the organic dairy farm De Hooilanden.
The vegetables are grown without sprays, following the principles of agroecology and regenerative farming, so the work centres on the health of the soil and of the wider farm ecosystem, and the range follows the seasons.
There are three ways to buy. Vegetables can be ordered online each week and collected from a pickup location in Ede or Wageningen. Every Saturday from 9:00 to 17:00 they are on the StreekWaar stall on the big church square in Wageningen, behind Bagels & Beans, and they are stocked at De Gieterij, the zero-waste shop in Wageningen. Cooking workshops for up to ten people run at the garden on Tuesday to Saturday afternoons by arrangement, and in 2026 there are farm dinners on 12 June, 3 July, 7 August and 4 September.
The garden is being made on former pasture of the dairy farm, which the growers are turning into no-dig beds instead of ploughing it.
