't Vrolijke Visje is a fishmonger on the Laanstraat in Baarn whose Zeeland mussels and French oysters are the part of the range that passed our fish check.

The mussels come from Zeeland, and the oysters are Gillardeau and Fines de Normandie, both Pacific oysters from France. All of them are farmed shellfish, which the VISwijzer fish guide rates green, though their website does not say whether the mussels are grown on the seabed or on ropes. The rest of the range, from razor clams, cockles, vongole and scallops to Dutch, Icelandic and Norwegian shrimp, smoked mackerel and salmon, ready meals and salads, is sold without an origin or fishing method and is unverified, and the smoked eel fillet is a species our check does not pass.

The shop is open Tuesday to Thursday from 9:00 to 17:30, Friday from 9:00 to 18:00 and Saturday from 9:00 to 17:00. Orders can also be placed through their webshop for collection, ideally two to three days ahead so the shop can have them delivered.
