Vleit eierautomaat Barneveld
- Pigs and poultry live free range: outdoors on pasture, in woodland or a run
Vleit eierautomaat Barneveld is an egg vending machine in the car park on the Kapteijnstraat in Barneveld, selling free-range eggs (vrije uitloop) at any hour of the day.
Vleit is the egg brand of Van de Vis Eierspecialist, a family laying-hen farm and egg packing station on the Lankerenseweg in Voorthuizen. The hens live in an aviary system with access to an outdoor range, and their website says they get exactly the same feed every day, with extra maize, though it does not say whether that feed is GM-free. The eggs are collected, graded and packed every morning, and the machine is refilled daily. Their website speaks both of eggs from their own hens and of free-range eggs from the region, so whether every egg in this machine comes from the Voorthuizen farm is not stated.
The machine is open around the clock. The vending machine at the farm itself in Voorthuizen also sells cheese, pasta and fruit juices.
