Erf Janz
- Organic methods: no synthetic pesticides or fertiliser, not certified
Erf Janz is a pick-your-own garden (pluktuin) with a shop, tea barn and ice cream parlour on the Rijksweg in Voorthuizen, where visitors pick their own soft fruit, tree fruit and cut flowers.
The garden grows strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries, tree fruit that varies by the day, and eighteen kinds of herbal tea from its own beds, which are sold in the shop alongside jams and marmalades made from the same soft fruit and blueberry juice. Their website says that, to encourage biodiversity, only natural means are used in the garden and no pesticides; whether synthetic fertiliser is also avoided is not stated. The ice cream, seven flavours made on the premises with pasture milk (weidemelk) and fruit from the garden, is not yet confirmed because the dairy that supplies the milk is not named, and the honey and propolis in the shop are not from their own bees.
Picking runs from 7 July to 23 October 2026, Tuesday to Friday from 10:00 to 16:00, the same hours as the shop; a basket and scissors are provided, soft fruit is priced by the kilo and flowers by the size of the bunch, and cards are accepted. The garden was formerly called Pluktuin Voor Jou and also runs a day-activity programme (dagbesteding) on the grounds.
