De Lankerenhof
- Pigs and poultry live free range: outdoors on pasture, in woodland or a run
- No synthetic pesticides or fertiliser (certified)
De Lankerenhof is an organic poultry farm on the Lankerenseweg in Voorthuizen that stopped keeping hens at the start of 2025 but still sells frozen meat from its last flock of laying hens and their brothers.
The farm was run for 30 years, 25 of them organically, and it is certified organic (SKAL); we found its certificate in the register. The meat comes under two names: SouperHen, the retired laying hens, sold whole as a soup hen or as breast fillet, and Haantje de Coq, the laying hens' brothers raised as roasting cockerels of 800 to 1,300 g. All meat is sold frozen. Honey from hives on the farm is also sold, not yet confirmed, along with egg liqueur, lemon curd and stone-ground wheat pasta under their Bleieren egg brand, whose eggs now come from Boerderij 't Paradijs.
There is no farm shop, so call before you come to collect at the farm. SouperHen and Haantje de Coq can also be ordered from the webshops Hofweb and Zorgnatuur, which deliver across the country, and from Odin organic shops and Odin's delivery service.
The farm gave up its hens partly because of repeated orders to keep poultry indoors during bird-flu outbreaks, the longest from October 2021 to May 2024, which it found at odds with its organic principles.
