Vleit Verse Eieren Automaat
- Pigs and poultry live free range: outdoors on pasture, in woodland or a run
Vleit is the egg vending machine of Van de Vis Eierspecialist, a laying-hen farm on the Lankerenseweg in Voorthuizen that sells free-range eggs from its own hens around the clock.
The hens live in aviary barns and can go outside, and they get the same feed every day with extra maize. The eggs are collected, sorted and packed every morning. Free-range eggs come in green boxes of ten in size M/L; the yellow boxes hold barn eggs (scharreleieren), from hens that stay indoors, which do not qualify for this guide.
The machine at the farm, Lankerenseweg 28A, is filled daily and open 24 hours a day, and besides eggs it sells cheese, pasta, fruit juice and gift packs. The same eggs are in Vleit machines at the Kapteijnstraat car park in Barneveld, the Shell station on the Apeldoornsestraat in Voorthuizen and at De IJsvogel, Kieftveen 18, Voorthuizen.
The farm is a laying-hen farm and egg packing station in one, so the eggs are packed on the same farm where they are laid.
