Boerderijwinkel, Zorg en Educatie Dijk43
- Cattle, sheep or goats graze on pasture in the grazing season
- Pigs and poultry live free range: outdoors on pasture, in woodland or a run
Dijk43 is a care farm in Klarenbeek, near Apeldoorn, with its own cattle, hens and pigs, selling beef, dairy, eggs and vegetables in its farm shop and webshop.
According to the farm, the cattle are outside all year and eat mostly grass, hay and silage with some concentrates or grain, grown on their own land without synthetic fertiliser or chemical pesticides. The herd supplies frozen beef and pasteurised milk, buttermilk, butter, ghee, yoghurt, kefir, kwark (fresh curd cheese) and ice cream. Eggs come from their own free-range hens (egg code 1), and vegetables and fruit grow on the same land. Pork isn't included, because the pigs have a paved or covered run only. They also sell chicken, cheese, bones, organ meats, fat, honey, oil and jam, not yet confirmed.
The shop is open Wednesday 14:00 to 16:30, Friday 14:00 to 18:00 and Saturday 10:00 to 14:00. Orders sent before Thursday are ready on Friday or Saturday, or delivered at home in the Stedendriehoek. Pickup points include Pantry Wilp, Loka055 and Prolokaal in Apeldoorn, Loka Groot Voorst, IJsselmarke near Brummen, and butchers in Beekbergen, Oene, Emst and Twello.
The farm has kept pigs since 1974, first at large scale for the world market; in 2019 it scaled down and also became a care farm, where clients help look after the animals.
