de Bakkerszonen
De Bakkerszonen is a bakery on the Mosveld in Amsterdam-Noord, run by two sons of bakers, who make everything they sell in their own bakery, from sourdough loaves to ordinary Dutch bread, pastries, cakes and ice cream.
All of their bread is baked with their own mother sourdough (moederdesem), and they grind wholemeal flour themselves. They also laminate the croissant dough and churn the ice cream in-house, following their own recipes and those of their fathers. Whether baker's yeast goes into any of the loaves alongside the sourdough is not yet confirmed.
The Mosveld shop is open Monday to Friday from 7:30 and on Saturday from 8:00, until 17:00 each day, and is closed on Sunday. You can also order through their webshop, where anything ordered before 17:00 is fresh the next day. There are two more shops, on the Beukenplein in Amsterdam-Oost and on the Waldenlaan in Oostpoort.
The einkorn they bake with is grown around Amsterdam and milled in the bakery's own mill.
