De Moestuin Utrecht

De Moestuin is an organic market garden with a greenhouse, lunch café and shop at Maarschalkerweerd on the east side of Utrecht, run as a social enterprise where people with a vulnerability work in the garden, the bakery and the kitchen.

The garden is certified organic (SKAL); we found it in the register under Stichting Moestuin Projecten. The shop sells vegetables from the garden and greenhouse, eggs from their own hens, bread from their own bakery, and jams, chutneys, biscuits and cakes made in their kitchen, alongside a growing range from organic producers in the area.

You can also harvest vegetables yourself (zelfoogst) from Tuesday to Saturday between 10:00 and 16:30, with a grower in the garden until 14:00 on Saturdays. The lunch café is open every day from 10:00 to 17:00, and everything closes between Christmas and New Year.

They describe everything they grow, bake and serve as organic, from the vegetables to the coffee.
