Plattelandswinkel Peek is a farm shop on the Nedereindseweg in Utrecht, on a farm that has been in the Peek family for generations, selling beef from its own cattle and eggs from its own hens alongside regional dairy and cheese.
The hens go outside every day with room to scratch and forage, and their eggs are collected daily and sold straight from the shop. The beef comes from the farm's own cattle, which their website describes as grass-fed and raised with plenty of space, and is sold as steak, burgers, stewing beef and barbecue packs. The farm is certified organic (SKAL); we found it in the register. Milk products and farm ice cream come from Melkveebedrijf Peek & Fokker, a dairy farm in Herveld, and the Gouda cheese is from De Graafstroom, made in the Green Heart from the milk of its member farms; how those cows are kept isn't confirmed.
The shop opens only on Saturdays from 8:30 to 16:30, and there are no sales outside those hours.
The shop stands on the original home ground of the Peek & Fokker dairy, which is why the two farms still work together.
