Stadstuinderij NoordOogst
- Organic methods: no synthetic pesticides or fertiliser, not certified
- Regenerative farming
- Nature-inclusive farming
Stadstuinderij NoordOogst is a pick-your-own vegetable garden in Amsterdam-Noord where members harvest their own vegetables, fruit, herbs and mushrooms each week from a 4,000 m² garden and a small food forest of 2,000 m².
The garden is part of the NoordOogst urban farming project on the former Melkweg sports ground, and the growers say it is grown without synthetic fertiliser or pesticides, in a way they describe as regenerative and nature-inclusive. One of the two growers completed the biodynamic farming course at Warmonderhof in 2024.
Joining works as a season membership of about 32 weeks, from mid-April to mid-November. Members pay the whole season up front, which buys the seed, plants and compost and gives the growers a secure income, and in return they share the risk of weather and pests: a good year means more for everyone, a poor one less. You come whenever suits you between sunrise and sunset, take what your household needs from the crops flagged for that week, and pay according to household size, with children under 12 harvesting for free. The 2026 season is full, and there is a waiting list for the next one. The wider NoordOogst site also holds an outdoor market on the first Saturday of each month from 11:00 to 16:00.
The garden is a neighbourhood compost point in the Afval naar Oogst scheme.
