Belevenisboerderij Schieveen is a visitor farm with a farm shop in Polder Schieveen on the northern edge of Rotterdam, where the shop sells beef from the farm's own cattle. It is run jointly by Natuurmonumenten, a family of city shepherds (stadsherders) and the municipality of Rotterdam.
The beef comes from the farm's own Lakenvelder cows, a mix of black and red belted animals that graze 14 hectares of nature reserve in the polder from April to December. The shop also sells eggs from the farm's own hens, which it describes as barn eggs (scharreleieren), and flour from Molen De Speelman. Farm dairy and cheese from De Bonte Weide in Stolwijk and the Kaasmeesters of Midden-Delfland are resold, as is chicken from Poulet d'Sophie, which describes itself as organic. The shop says dairy from its own animals is sold too, and it has seasonal vegetables, but neither is confirmed yet.
The shop is open all year from Wednesday to Sunday, 10:00 to 17:30, and every day during school holidays. When it is closed, eggs and vegetables are set out for sale by the entrance.
