In their words · translated
“Met passie verbouwen wij groenten op natuurlijke wijze zonder kunstmest en chemische bestrijdingsmiddelen.”
With passion we grow vegetables in a natural way without synthetic fertiliser and chemical pesticides.
“Nu verbouwen we meer dan veertig verschillende soorten groenten op 6000m2 op ecologische wijze waarbij de gezondheid van de grond voorop staat”
Now we grow more than forty different kinds of vegetables on 6000 m2 in an ecological way, in which the health of the soil comes first

De Groenteplaats is a market garden of 6,000 m² on the Zwarte Goorderweg in Stoutenburg-Noord, near Amersfoort, where two growers raise more than forty kinds of vegetables for a weekly vegetable bag and a self-harvest garden.

The vegetables are grown without synthetic fertiliser or chemical pesticides, mostly in the open field, with cucumbers and cherry tomatoes from the garden's polytunnels. Their vegetables are also sold at De Nieuwe Graanschuur in Amersfoort.

Joining means signing up for a season of 28 weeks from around mid-May, with a three-week summer break; in 2026 the harvest runs until 4 December. The vegetable bag holds five vegetables a week, harvested and washed for you, sized for one, two or four people, and you collect it on Friday afternoon at Boerderij de Omrand in Stoutenburg-Noord or at a home pickup point in Nijkerk, Leusden or the Amersfoort districts of Nieuwland, Vathorst (from 30 October 2026) and Zuid. A self-harvest share instead means picking five vegetables a week yourself at the garden on the Stoutenburgerlaan in Stoutenburg, on Wednesday afternoons or Saturdays; a second self-harvest garden opens in Nijkerk in May 2027.

The beds are kept under a layer of organic compost that feeds the soil life, on the growers' reasoning that healthy soil gives plants that resist disease and pests better.
