Henzen Honing
- Zero waste
Henzen Honing is a beekeeper in Woudenberg who has been producing honey in and around the village since 2015 and sells it from home on the Koningin Emmastraat.
Some of the hives stand in the beekeeper's own back garden in the middle of Woudenberg, which gives an ultra-local honey, and several times each season the bees are taken further afield, to fruit growers and to the heath. The honey on sale comes from these colonies, and over the season it is sold as spring honey, summer honey, heather honey and a creamed honey, each until that harvest runs out.
Honey is ordered through the form on their website; the beekeeper emails a confirmation and payment request, and the order is then left in the pickup cabinet (afhaalkast) in front of the house at the agreed time, Monday to Saturday between 8:30 and 20:30, with empty jars returned to the same doorstep. Orders aren't posted as standard, but larger quantities, honey in your own jar or bucket, and parcels within the Netherlands and the EU can be arranged on request. Henzen Honing also has a stall at local fairs (braderieën) such as Haantjesdag in Woudenberg.
