Boerderij tussen de Hagen is an organic dairy farm in Stoutenburg that sells its own raw milk, eggs, beef, pork and chicken from its farm shop.
The farm switched to organic in 1997, choosing to keep the number of cows in balance with the land, limit antibiotics and use no chemical pesticides, and it is certified organic (SKAL); we found the certificate in the register. Since 2018 it has also kept pigs and chickens, each with its own role on the farm. The raw milk is sold loose, so you bring a bottle or buy one in the shop. The beef range includes tongue, liver, kidney, oxtail, shin and marrow bones, and the poultry includes whole cockerels, soup hens (soepkip) and carcasses for stock. The croquettes and bitterballen are bought in and are not organic.
The shop is open on Friday from 10:00 to 17:00 and Saturday from 10:00 to 12:00, or by appointment. It lies 500 metres down a lane off the Hessenweg, so drivers should navigate to Hessenweg 84, and you are welcome to bring your own packaging. Fresh meat can be ordered several times a year through their mailing list, and some products are also sold at Jumbo Wahle and Jumbo De Biezenkamp in Leusden.
In 2019 they planted the first part of a silvopasture, grazing land set with nut trees, sweet chestnuts, standard fruit trees, berries and fodder hedges for the cattle.
