“Sinds 2023 hebben wij op Hoeve klein Mariëndaal een zelfoogsttuin van circa 1 hectare akker waar wij groenten, kruiden en fruit telen. Deze seizoensgebonden gewassen worden duurzaam en met zorg geteeld door onze deelnemers, zonder bestrijdingsmiddelen en kunstmest.”
Since 2023 we have had a self-harvest garden of about 1 hectare of arable land at Hoeve Klein Mariëndaal, where we grow vegetables, herbs and fruit. These seasonal crops are grown sustainably and with care by our participants, without pesticides and synthetic fertiliser.
“leden minimaal 30 weken per jaar volop kunnen genieten van een gevarieerd en smakelijk aanbod van groenten, kruiden, noten en fruit. Per oogstseizoen hebben we ruimte voor 110 leden.”
members can enjoy a varied and tasty supply of vegetables, herbs, nuts and fruit for at least 30 weeks a year. Each harvest season we have room for 110 members.
Hoeve Klein Mariëndaal is a care farm on the Mariëndaal estate at the edge of Arnhem with a self-harvest garden of about one hectare, shared each season by 110 members.
Since 2023 the garden has grown vegetables, herbs, fruit and nuts, sown, planted and kept by the people who come to the farm for day care, and their website says no pesticides or synthetic fertiliser are used. The farm also keeps chickens, though whether their eggs are sold we couldn't confirm.
Joining means buying a large harvest share for the season, which gives you at least 30 weeks of produce to pick yourself; a small extra share can be added to a large one. The garden is open to members Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 15:30 and on Saturday from 9:30 to 12:30. For the 2026 season new members went onto a waiting list, which you join by email, and you can visit on weekdays between 9:00 and 16:00 to see the garden first. The farm can't be reached by car: you park on the Heijenoordseweg, five minutes' walk away, or take bus 10 from Arnhem Centraal.
The garden's opening hours follow the day-care schedule on purpose, so that members harvest alongside the participants who grow the crops.
