De Voedselboswinkel
- Food forest
De Voedselboswinkel is a small shop on the Utrechtseweg in Oosterbeek, opened in 2023 by a food-forest grower with her own forest in the Achterhoek, which sells produce and products from Dutch food forests.
The shop stocks seasonal fruit and nuts and processed products made in small batches by food-forest makers the owner knows, such as hazelnut oil, Nordic olives and wild ketchup, along with soap made from native plants and books on foraging and food-forest cooking. It also sells edible plants for your own garden: fruit trees, berry bushes, herbs and edible climbers. Which products come from the owner's own forest and which from other food forests isn't stated, and we haven't checked the individual producers.
The shop isn't always open; its listed opening day is Friday from 9:00 to 17:00. Orders can be placed in their webshop at any time and are posted every Friday, or collected by appointment at Utrechtseweg 45.
In a food forest, nuts, fruit, blossom and herbs grow mixed together as they would in nature, which is where the unusual flavours in the range come from.
