“farm shop offers handcrafted 'cold-spun' honey varieties and nutritional supplements such as royal jelly, bee pollen, and propolis”

Imkerij 't Schuurtje is a beekeeping farm on the Oud-Loosdrechtsedijk in Loosdrecht, started as a hobby apiary in 1975 and now run by the next generation as an educational beekeeping centre with a shop, a bed and breakfast and space for workshops and gatherings.

The shop sells cold-extracted honey in many kinds, including flower, spring, summer, fruit-blossom, clover, lime-blossom, rapeseed, heather and acacia, as well as comb honey, bee pollen, royal jelly, propolis tincture and salve, and beeswax for candle-making. Not every honey is in stock all year, and their website doesn't say which come from their own hives; the rapeseed honey, for example, is described as coming from the polders and the north of the country. The honey wines are a named brand made with lime-blossom honey.

The beekeeping farm is open by appointment only, so phone or email before you come, also to check which honeys are available.

The bees can be watched behind glass in a specially built hive, and the apiary is nationally certified as an educational beekeeping centre.
