Korenmolen De Vier Winden ⁽¹⁸⁸²⁾
Korenmolen De Vier Winden is a round brick tower windmill built in 1882 on the Haagweg in Monster, where volunteer millers from the Gilde van Vrijwillige Molenaars grind wheat into wholemeal flour.
The grinding is done on the mill's one working pair of millstones, known as the blue pair, which is in regular use; the sieving machine that once made white flour is no longer used. The shop on the ground floor sells wholemeal wheat flour, white wheat flour, spelt flour, five-grain flour, rolled oats and pancake flour, along with baking mixes for cake, apple cake, butter cake, shortbread and speculaas (spiced biscuits). Their website does not say where the wheat comes from or which of these products are milled at the mill itself.
The mill shop is open every Saturday from 14:00 to 17:00 and whenever the sails are turning, and products are sold while stocks last.
