Meat & Go
- Cattle, sheep or goats graze on pasture in the grazing season
Meat & Go is a family beef farm on the Bonegraafseweg in Dodewaard, in the Betuwe, that sells the meat of its own cattle from a self-service shop and a webshop.
The beef comes from the farm's own cattle, which according to their website are out in the meadow in fine weather, kept in a warm barn in winter and given only natural feed; what that feed is, and how many months they spend outside, isn't stated. When ready they go to a local butcher who slaughters on site, so the journey is short, and the meat is cut, vacuum-packed and brought back to the farm. Pork from nearby Dutch farms, chicken from Dutch farmers and Dutch Black Angus from around Leerdam are also sold, not yet confirmed. Some of the meat is frozen and some chilled.
The self-service shop at the farm is open Monday to Saturday from 8:00 to 22:00. Online you can order single cuts, a ready-made package or a meat box you put together yourself, and either collect it in Dodewaard or have it delivered in the farm's own van, the same evening if you order before 14:00 and your postcode is on their delivery routes.
