Molen De Vriendschap
Molen De Vriendschap is a working tower corn mill (stellingkorenmolen) at Nieuweweg 109 in Veenendaal, more than 150 years old and run by volunteers, which grinds and sells its own flour under the name Vriendschapsmeel.
The flour comes as wholemeal wheat, white flour (bloem) and pancake flour, milled in the mill itself in what their website calls the traditional way. Where the grain comes from, whether any of it is organic and whether the stones run on wind are not stated, so the flour is listed on the strength of being ground here. The mill shop also sells cake and biscuit mixes, honey and beeswax candles from Imkerij De Werkbij and beer from the Veenendaal town brewery, which we haven't judged.
The shop is open on Wednesday and Friday afternoons from 13:30 to 16:00 and on Saturdays from 10:00 to 16:00, the same hours in which the mill can be visited for a tour; larger flour orders can be arranged by email.
