The season for grapes

Dutch table grapes are a small crop, ripe in September and October, mostly from unheated glass in the Westland and from small vineyards.

How to choose grapes

A bloom on the skin and a green stem.

Nutrients in grapes

Vitamin K, potassium and polyphenols, with resveratrol and anthocyanins in the skins of dark grapes.

To get the most: Eat the skins and, if you can, the seeds. Dark grapes carry more polyphenols than green.

Content per NEVO, the Dutch food composition database. This describes what the food contains, not what it does for you.

How to prepare grapes

Eat fresh, or roast a bunch alongside a chicken.

Who sells grapes

4 producers in The Field Guide sell grapes, according to their own website or shop list, each checked against our inclusion criteria and listed by province. Another 174 growers passed our bar for this food group; we have not yet recorded what each of them grows, so ask them or search the map.
