Stadsboerderij de Korenmaat is a city farm of Natuurcentrum Arnhem on the Marius van Beeklaan in Arnhem-Zuid, with a farm shop selling vegetables from its own gardens, meat from its own animals and food from regional farms.
The farm's own vegetables and fruit are grown from organic seed without pesticides; outside the high season they are bought in from organic farms in the region or the organic wholesaler. The meat is from the farm's own animals, which their website says eat organic feed: cattle grazing the 80 hectares the Natuurcentrum manages, pigs that can go outside freely, and goats, not confirmed outdoors; which meats are sold and in what form is not stated. Eggs come from the farm's own hens and a fellow farmer; the hens' run is not confirmed. The shop also stocks local honey, cheese from three dairies and organic flour milled at De Witte Watermolen in Arnhem, which we have not checked. Their website says the farm holds the SKAL mark.
The shop is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 to 16:00 and Sunday from 13:00 to 16:00.
On one field the farmer let the grass grow metres high and turned the cows in only in August, so they ate a third and trampled the rest into a humus layer that fed the soil life the next year.
